Dangote Refinery-backed MRS filling station is dispensing Premium Motor Spirit at a higher price than Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and other filling stations.

Media correspondent reports that MRS filling in Abuja increased its petrol price to N975 per liter, up from N875 in Abuja and environs.

This means the filling stations increased the fuel price by N100 per liter on Tuesday after the plant raised its gantry cost on Monday.

In comparison with NNPCL filling station petrol prices, MRS filling stations are N15 per liter more expensive than the state-owned firm’s outlets and other firms like Ranoil, AA Rano, and Sharon.

Speaking to media in anonymity, a manager at MRS filling station said, “It’s because of the hike in gantry price by Dangote Refinery attributed to rising crude oil prices over the escalation of hostilities in the Middle East.”
