A 42-year-old Auwalu Shuaibu in Adamawa State has been arrested for defiling his 9-year-old daughter.
Auwalu Shaibu, who has confessed the act to the police, said it happened after he had taken too much whisky and some hard drugs.
Auwalu, who is now in detention at the Adamawa State Police headquarters in Yola, told police operatives that, in his drunken state, he could not differentiate his daughter from his wife.
Auwalu, a resident of Kabang in Mubi, a commercial nerve centre in northern Adamawa, was arrested on Monday, March 11, according to a statement on Thursday from the state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje.
